Tips

Habits that save you time and keep your customers happy. Each tip links to the page with the full steps.

Get more connections on your line

Your provider's connection limit decides how fast checks run and how many people can watch on that line at once. Nothing you change inside M3UTool comes close. Then tell M3UTool the real limit in Playlist settings, under Provider accounts, so checks stay inside it. A number higher than your provider allows gets the line blocked. More in How checking works.

Import only what you sell

A lean playlist is faster to check and easier to browse. Pick only the groups you want to sell when you add a playlist. You can bring in more later. More in Choose groups.

Set the country of each group

Logo matching and TV guide matching use the group's country to tell same-named channels from different countries apart. Set it once under Country in the group's panel, or with Set country… in its menu, and both land far more often. More in Groups.

Clean names first

Logo matching, guide mapping and posters for movies and series all read the name. Tidy names first, and the rest finds its match more often. More in Fix names.

Let automation finish your refreshes

In Playlist settings, under Checks & updates, turn on the steps you want under After each provider update: fix channel names, match logos, map the guide, fill in posters and check streams. New channels then arrive finished. More in Playlist automation.

Check before you hand out a login

A check before a new customer signs in catches the dead channels before the customer does. Hide what stays offline with Hide not working channels under Tools, Careful. More in Run a check.

Brand before the first customer signs in

Your customers' first look at the app is either your brand or a plain one. Set your name, logo and colour first. More in Branding and custom domain.

Set the device limit and expiry when you add a customer

A sensible device limit stops most sharing before it starts, and an expiry date ends access without you having to remember it. More in Add a customer.

Take a backup before a big change

Undo takes back your last change. A backup rolls back the whole playlist. Before a large bulk edit, open Backups and click Back up now. More in Backups and restore.

Group copies of a channel instead of deleting them

When the same channel comes from several providers, keep the copies as fallbacks behind one channel. Your customers see one entry, and playback moves to the next copy when the first one dies. More in Fallbacks.
