Live sports

FAQ

Common questions about live sports.

Q: Why does Live sports do nothing with my event channels?

It only looks at channels marked PPV / event. While none are marked, Build now stays greyed out. Mark a whole group in its ⋯ menu with Event group (live sports / PPV), or mark single channels in the Channel editor first. More in Move events into a group.

Q: Why is an event named from the channel instead of matched?

M3UTool read an event from the name, but found no fixture for it in the sports data. That happens with friendlies, small leagues and names in an unusual shape. The channel still gets its name and a basic guide entry from its own words. When all times are off by the same hours, check Times in this provider's channel names are. More in Event wording and times.

Q: Why is a finished event still in my sports group?

A finished event goes back to its own group, hidden, 3 hours after its start or when its guide entry ends. Until then it stays. A leftover name with a time but no date counts as today's event, so it comes back each day until your provider renames the channel.

Q: Where did my event channel go?

When its event is over, or its name says "No event", the channel is hidden and back in the group it came from, for example PPV | EVENTS. It shows again as soon as your provider names the next event on it. In the editor it stays in the list, with an orange bar and Hidden on in its panel. Your customers do not see it meanwhile.

Q: Can I keep event channels in their own groups?

Yes. Turn off Move events into it. The channels stay where your provider put them, and still get their name, guide entry and picture. Leave Live events group empty as well if they should also stay visible between events.

Q: How often are the events updated?

With Auto on, about every three hours. M3UTool also rebuilds after a refresh of your playlist when your provider renamed an event channel. Click Build now to update at once.

Q: I changed the wording, why do the channels still show the old names?

Names are written when the sports guide is built. Click Build now after you change the wording, and every event channel gets the new wording.

Q: Why are my event channels never checked?

An event channel is often empty between events, and that does not mean it is broken. So checks leave channels marked PPV / event out, also a check you start by hand. To test one, open it and click Quick check in its panel.

Q: What happens when I remove a league rule?

Its matches stop being collected into the league's group. Channels already there stay put, they are only not moved again. The name of the league goes back to the name the fixture carries.
