Plans and limits
Your plan decides how big your business in M3UTool can grow: how many playlists, channels and customers you have, and how many checks you run each day. You pick it with three sliders: customers, playlists, and channels per playlist. This page explains what each limit counts and what happens when you reach it. Prices and the sliders are on Plan & billing, see Plan and billing.
Where you see your usage
- On the Overview page: The tiles Playlists, Channels and Daily checks show what you use next to your limit. A limit shown as ∞ has no cap. More in The Overview page.
- On the Account page: Plan & usage shows Playlists, Channels, Customers and Checks today, and which extras your plan includes. More in Your account.
What each limit means
Account shows these limits for your plan, and the list under the sliders on Plan & billing shows them for any size you pick.
| Limit | What it counts | When you reach it |
|---|---|---|
| playlists | The playlists in your account. You set it with the Playlists slider. | Add playlist says you have reached your plan's limit. Delete a playlist or move the slider up. |
| channels | The channels, movies and episodes one playlist may hold: 1M, 2M or 5M, set with the third slider. Every playlist gets the full amount. | The import window shows the count in red and asks you to remove a few groups. A refresh stops adding new channels. |
| checks / day | The channels M3UTool may check for you in one day. | Checks stop with Daily check quota reached. The count starts again the next day. |
| channels checked at once · tools running at once | How many channels are checked at the same time, and how many longer tasks, like an import or a check, run at once. | Nothing breaks. The next task waits in line until one finishes. |
| customers | Your customers across all playlists. You set it with the Customers slider. | The Add button on Customers is greyed out. |
| TV guide countries | How many countries of TV guide you can switch on. All TV guide countries means there is no limit. | You cannot add another country. More in Guide countries and sources. |
Every plan picked with the sliders includes these extras. Older plans, like Starter, show a tick for the ones they include and a line through the rest.
- Automatic backups: Snapshots of your playlists about every six hours, which you can restore. More in Backups and restore.
- Your checks go first in the queue: Your imports, refreshes and checks go ahead of the normal queue. Included from 250 customers.
- Branded players (web + Android): The M3UTool apps and the web player with your name and logo, and activation codes for your customers. Without it, your customers watch with an Xtream login or an M3U link in any player. More in The M3UTool apps.
- Self-host: M3UTool on your own computer or server. Included from €40 a year, not in the free trial. More in How self-host works.
Good to know
- Free trial: A new account gets 14 days free once you link Discord, with every feature and up to 5,000 checks a day. Self-host is not part of the trial. It comes with plans from €40 a year. When the trial ends without a plan, your playlists and customer feeds are paused right away.
- Your paid period ends: A banner at the top of the editor warns you, and you have 14 days to pay. Everything keeps working during those days. After that your plan ends until you pay again.
- Paused means paused: While your plan is inactive, your playlists and customer feeds stop. Nothing is deleted, and everything switches back on when you pick a plan.
- One playlist smaller than the rest: Click Playlist settings in the bar on the left of the editor, then Provider accounts in its menu. The Channel cap box, with its Max channels field, sets a lower limit for one playlist. 0 keeps your plan's number. It saves when you click out of the box.
- Tip: Need more than 400 customers or 20 playlists? Open a ticket and ask about a custom plan. More in Support tickets.
