Apps FAQ

Q: Which app should I give my customer?

The Android TV app for TVs, TV boxes and Fire TV, the phone app for Android phones and tablets, the Windows player for a Windows computer, and the web player for anything with a browser. A customer can use several of them with the same code. More in The M3UTool apps.

Q: Is there an app for iPhone or Apple TV?

No. Customers with an iPhone, an iPad or an Apple TV use the web player in the browser, or another player with the Xtream login. More in Use other players.

Q: Can a customer use the same activation code on two devices?

Yes. The code keeps working after it is used, so the customer can set up a second TV or install the app again. How many devices can watch at the same time is set by Max devices. More in Devices and connections.

Q: Can my customers keep using TiviMate or Smarters?

Yes. Give them the Xtream login or the M3U link from Give to customer. Groups, end date and device limits work the same way. More in Use other players.

Q: How do my customers get app updates?

The apps offer new versions by themselves. The customer agrees, and the app updates. The download links always give the newest version, and dontv.shop/downloads lists the current version numbers.

Q: A customer forgot their parental PIN. Can I reset it?

Not from the editor. The customer sets the PIN in the app, under Settings, then Parental, and M3UTool never sees the PIN itself. More in Profiles, PIN and sync.

Q: Why do my customer's lists look the same on the TV and the phone?

That is sync. Profiles, My list, Continue watching, home rows, hidden or renamed groups and the PIN follow the customer to every device with the same login. More in Profiles, PIN and sync.

Q: Do my customers see my branding in the apps?

Yes. Your app name, logo and colour show in every M3UTool app from the moment the code is used. For your own name and icon on the home screen of the TV, build a branded app. More in Branding and custom domain.
