How the editor works
The editor opens when you click Open on a playlist card. It shows one part of the playlist at a time, Live TV, Movies or Series, with its groups on the left, the streams in the middle and the details of what you clicked on the right. Everything you change here changes your copy of the playlist, never your provider's.
The parts of the screen
| Part | Where | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Icon bar | Far left | Switches between Live TV, Movies and Series, and opens Customers, Auto refresh, Playlist settings, Who's watching, Backups, Branding and Tickets. |
| Playlist name | Top left | Shows which playlist you are in, with its online, offline and unchecked counts. Click it to switch to another playlist. |
| Search and Filters | Top middle | Find streams by name or by what they have. More in Search and filter. |
| Undo, New, Tools and the search button | Top right | Undo takes back your last change. New adds a channel, a group, a linked group or a provider source. Tools holds every job that works on many channels at once, like checking, renaming or sorting. The search button (Ctrl + K) finds any tool or setting by name. More in How the tools work. |
| Your initial | Top right corner | Opens a menu with your account, Dark mode and Sign out. |
| Tabs | Under the top bar | The views of the part you are in, see below. |
| Groups | Left | The groups (this guide also says groups) of this part, with how many streams each holds. The thin line under each name shows online (green), offline (red) and not checked (grey). Click a group to open it; on a wide screen its panel opens on the right. |
| Grid | Middle | The streams of the group you clicked. The buttons Online, Offline, Not checked and All above it show only those. |
| Detail panel | Right | The details of the stream you clicked, the actions for all selected streams, or the panel of the group you opened or ticked. |
| Console | Bottom | What M3UTool is doing for this playlist, for example a check. More in How checking works. |

Reading a row
- The dot: Green is online, red is offline, grey is not checked yet.
- The coloured edge: Orange means hidden from your customers, blue means left out of checks, green means the name follows the provider, violet means a fallback of another channel. Click Legend above the grid to see this on screen.
- The small labels: 18+ is an adult channel, PPV an event channel, and a violet label with a number shows how many sources a channel has. More in Fallbacks.
- Series: Each show is one row. Click the arrow at its left to see its episodes.
When changes are saved
- At once: Renaming in the grid, dragging, moving to another group, the switches in the detail panel and everything in the group menus and the group panel.
- When you leave the field: The name, Number, guide id and Shift at the top of the detail panel, and Logo URL and Channel link further down. Pressing Enter does the same.
The detail panel has no Save button.
Your customers get the changes the next time their player loads the playlist.
Keyboard shortcuts
- / jumps to the search box.
- Ctrl or Shift and click selects several rows or groups at once.
- Delete moves the selected rows or the ticked groups to the bin. Undo is on the message.
- Ctrl + K finds any tool or setting by name.
- Esc closes a window or clears the selection.
- ? shows the list of shortcuts.
Note: Movies and series work the same way as channels. What differs is on their own tabs, like Posters & info, and that a series is renamed and moved as a whole show.
