Users

How users work

A user is a person you sell access to. You add them under one of your playlists, and they watch that playlist exactly as you built it: your names, your order, your logos and your Guide. Your users never see the editor or your account.

Where you find them

Open a playlist and click Users in the bar on the left of the editor. The list on the left shows every user of this playlist. Click one to open their settings on the right.

Each row shows the user's name, their login username, a status word and their end date:

StatusMeaning
ActiveEverything works for this user.
ExpiringTheir end date is 7 days away or less.
ExpiredTheir end date has passed. Nothing plays for them.
OffYou paused this user. Nothing plays for them.

Next to the Users title you see how many users you have and how many your plan allows, for example "12 of 250".

What a user gets

Every user has their own login, made by M3UTool. From it they get:

All of these belong to the same user. What you set for the user (groups, end date, devices) applies to every one of them at once.

Your provider login stays behind

Each user also has a provider login: the login you bought from your provider for this user. M3UTool puts it into the stream addresses when the user presses play, so the video comes from your provider. The user never sees it. More in Provider logins.

What you decide

What happens by itself

Note: A user belongs to one playlist. You can move them to another playlist later, but their group access starts again from zero.
